Former Olympic gymnast Aagje Vanwalleghem went on a campervan adventure for the first time! The purpose of the trip? To take a well-deserved break after a hectic period. Read within this report a brief summary of her first campervan trip:
THE ENCHANTING BERDORF
We just returned from a fantastic weekend trip with the Vanomobil motorhome: our first camper adventure! Luxembourg was at the top of our list for a camper trip, and thanks to the golden tip from Vanomobil we ended up at Camping Martbusch in enchanting Berdorf. The perfect base to explore Little Switzerland.
Together with my husband, the kids and our mischievous 2-year-old husky, whom we had just adopted, we took our very first trip. And what a trip it was! After a smooth drive of just over 3 hours, we parked our cozy Chausson Nordic Edition 777 on a green patch of heaven, overlooking the majestic forest in the Berdorf recreation area. The bed that could be raised and lowered was an eye-catcher in itself. Flushing the toilet in the camper was hilarious for the kids, a real adventure on wheels! After trying some buttons, we finally found our zen mode and could really start to relax and enjoy ourselves.
AN IDYLLIC START
The next morning we were awakened by the singing of birds and the rhythmic tapping of a woodpecker. An idyllic start to the day with the sun greeting us. We enjoyed breakfast in the camper, cozy coffee and got ready to explore Little Switzerland. What a wonderful place!
FROM RELAXING TO A GROUNDBREAKING EXPERIENCE
Once back in the camper, it was time to relax; shower, put on pajamas, prepare a nice meal and play some board games before we crawled under the covers early. Unfortunately, morning came too soon and we had to pack up and leave. Emptying the chemical toilet was an experience in itself, a bit groundbreaking in fact. Walking with a trolley filled with a very different load than my usual carry-on luggage on flights to a professional travel destination, it was something different for a change.
One more visit to Echternach and then 3 hours home again. It was a fantastic adventure where, thanks to the advice of the people from Vanomobil, we had to take everything slow and easy. Exactly what we needed; relaxation, rest, a well-deserved break after a hectic period. Without a doubt to be repeated!
