Philosophy

At Knaus everything revolves around reliability and solidity... you have your Knaus for life, if you want it of course. But Knaus takes the next step by linking these very traditional values with their will for innovation and renewal. Not an easy task, but if you look at a Knaus up close, you will see that they succeed wonderfully.

History

When Helmut Knaus founded his caravan company in 1960, he mainly wanted to do his own thing, based on his feelings and far from the paths taken by other caravan builders. He called his first caravan, in the shape of an egg, the “swallow's nest” and won 3x gold at the “International Automobile Tournament” in Bad Nauennahr! In no time, the initial factory was too small and he left his native Heilbronn to lay the foundation of today's Knaus in the Bavarian forest. From 100 “Swallow's Nests” in 1961, a generation later they built 20,000 motorhomes and caravans on 3 different production sites (Jandelsbrunn (D) – Motgers (D) – Nagyoroszi (H))
