Finally home: the opening of Vanomobil Aarschot
After two years of planning, waiting and persevering, 4 June finally marked the moment: the official opening of our Aarschot branch.
La dolce vita in the showroom
The theme was Italian, and that was clear from the moment guests arrived. Wooden benches, warm fairy lights, Italian hats, the showroom had never looked so welcoming. Due to the rain, we had cleared the entire space, workshop included, so everyone could enjoy the evening indoors. And just as the evening got underway, the sun broke through after all. Grazie, weather gods.
A warm welcome
Every guest was greeted personally by Veronique (managing director) and Ellen (branch manager). A welcome drink in a Vanomobil glass, which everyone got to take home as a lasting memento of the evening. With canapés doing the rounds, the atmosphere was just right: familiar faces, new acquaintances and the satisfaction of seeing a space finally come to life.
Words that matter
Then came the speeches. Ignace took the floor to address everyone who had been part of the Aarschot journey over the past two years: customers who were patient, suppliers who pulled together, and a team that never gave up. Ellen spoke as branch manager — the person who steered the branch through its most challenging period and now stands behind it with full conviction.
Foodtrucks, fresh pasta and wood-fired pizza
After the speeches, it was time to eat. Two foodtrucks served up a generous Italian spread: fresh pasta and pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven. And to top it all off, our colleague Dieter rounded off the evening with ice cream. The perfect ending to a summer evening in June.
A full heart
Those wishing to bring a gift were asked to make a donation to Make-A-Wish Belgium instead. Together, we raised €1,735, a sum that will go in full to seriously ill children. That it happened so spontaneously and generously says everything about the people in that room.
